My Life is My Life

You say   am  a dreamer

You  say    am  an  idealist

You  make me feel  at fault   for being so.

You arch  your eyebrow in disapproval.

As if   I live far less human.

I say my life is my life

My choice  is my power  alone

Idealist or dreamer let it be

For  at least  I have  someting to believe in.

Some people trudge through life

Tumbling and tossing  like  a dead leaf;

Some people live so practically –

some  live   best; some  get bruised.

I'd  rather  get  bruised   

for  doing   something  I believe in

Than  be  miserable trying to live  by others'.

If  by what I live   by

I get  hurt… and fall

Then I'll cry… and learn.

If  I succeed 

Then  I'll  laugh.. and take pride on how I lived.

I say my life  is my domain

Your life is yours.

You  say it makes me vulnerable 

being  less realistic..

I say  how far  do  you  know   my strength?

or  yours?

Meddle  with your own life

For   one  life  is already too much  to  handle

and if you keep  on  looking  at  others

you might  miss  out   your own.
