What My Dash Will Constitute

a friend e-mailed me an article saying she's glad that she has me in her dash. By that she meant the years from the day she was born until the day of her death. She claimed that the most important in life is how life has been made meaningful because of the people and the experiences that transpired in those years. And so today, inspired by the thought, I want to cite all the things I desire to fill the dash in my life, all that I intend to be and how i want to be remembered.

let the count down begin:

1. to make life a bit easier for people who are within my reach
2. to touch the lives of others even though fleeting
3. to inspire people to do the right thing
4. to publish a literary work in paper bound
5. to please God.
6. to feel contented wherever I am placed, NO MATTER WHAT I AMOUNT TO.
7. to have a guy best friend
8. to become a medical practitioner
9. to become an educator
10. to feed the hungry whenever I can and my finances allow
11. to hug someone whose privately in pain
12. to read people's gestures more accurately
13. to be assertive
14. to travel to at least 3 countries
15. to roam the Philippines' best places
16. to have loved so much with the mind in constant check.
17. to be known more fully and deeply by at least 5 persons besides my immediate family
18. to be loved as I am: flawed.
19. to have spent more time in reflection and meditation
20. to be well-versed on two foreign languages
21. and be more coversational in the different Filipino dialects I know.
22. to have fulfilled at least 60 percent, if not mostly, of these guidelines.
23. to please God. (oh, have i said that already?)
24. to be respected because of my integrity and principles, not of my rank.
25. to be fluent in English, written and oral.
26. to achieve an aura of calmess and commanding presence.
27. to have prayed for others more.
28. to never lose my values amid harsh realities.
29. to stand for the truth and never make justifications for the wrong.
30. to never compromise my morals even when I feel deserted.
31. to have never given up on life despite the odds.
32. to have remained strong in character even when good fruits are'nt reaped.
33. to have walked an extra mile for a friend when I feel that I have already given enough.
34. to have a house and lot of my own.
35. to have at least 10 beautiful people in my life that left a legend.
36. to work for the poor, the destitute and the less loved by the society.
37. to be acceptable to my conscience.
38. to be pleasing to others, but never a conformist.
39. to have a car. (of my own)
40. to see my parents live the life I dream for them as they grow old.
41. to see my siblings reap their dreams before its too late.
42. to hear of friends doing well.
43. to have loved my enemies by praying for them even when my heart aches.
44. to learn to play a musical instrument like guitar or piano. (whichever)
45. to have a painting of my own (made by myself)
46. to tend a garden back home.
47. to really bake.
48. to have learned street dancing, ballroom.
49. to be part of a play once more. (theather)
50. to be at peace with myself depite life's complexities.
51. to never be a disgrace to my parents. (according to my standards)
55. to find a loving and faithful partner and have wonderful kids.
56. or to lead the road different from the secular life.
57. to have savings when I reached 30.
58. to be involved in volunteer work in far-flung places.
59. to have lived by example wherein kindness is the best policy.
60. to die happy.
